They have lost contact with the remains of the defeated army which was driven to the Hornburg, together with the king and his younger son. They know that the king's older son has fallen and fear for the others.
Author notes: This was written for an Insta-drabbling event at the SWG Discord yesterday, for a poem prompt. I am also claiming it for the December challenge here, as I did not manage to post a drabble in November, only ficlets without fixed word count.
